Polish Professionals in London

Dear Sir/Madam,

We - Polish Professionals in London - are writing to invite your community leaders to take part in the project organised by us under the patronage of British Council. The idea of our project is spreading cross-cultural awareness within different communities as well as helping them to implement this practice in their own communities. We would like to invite the leaders and other members of your community to attend our two workshop meetings, which will focus on cross-cultural communication, British culture and diversity. Participants will look closer at and reflect on their own as well as another culture, learn what impact their cultural background has on how they communicate with and perceive other people. Not only this workshop will introduce the importance of cross-cultural awareness, but inspire and give guidance on how to spread it further within own community. Participants will only need willingness to take part as our workshop is run on a voluntary basis and is free of charge.

Our Organisation and project

Polish Professionals in London is a non-profitable London-based organisation that since 2005 has been helping Polish migrants to adapt to their new home in London. To achieve this goal, in 2009 we launched a series of sessions designed to make Polish migrants more culturally aware and to improve their understanding of British society. The sessions focus on diversity, cross-cultural communication, British culture, and social responsibility.

Our current project - Poles in the Community - is run under the patronage of the British Council and is inspired by one of its programme, Intercultural Navigators. Our past experiences in sessions for Polish community proved to be effective and having a great demand. Therefore, we extended our project to include other EU communities such as Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Slovakian, Czech and Hungarian. We are ready to help and support the introduction of a concept similar to ours in your community. We can offer our existing know-how, successfully tested session modules, and experienced trainers.
